The grandmother embodies a woman who has already passed successfully the struggles of life,  has raised her children and can look from a certain distance now. She sees her children exposed to the same problems with their children now like she had with them. She knows that there are no easy solutions, and still has serenity, wisdom, dignity and development, even when things do not work as desired.

She does no longer have to prove herself as a woman, because she already has. The wise old woman does not get upset, she can be humorous and generous about all the small and big problems in everyday life. Birch is the tree that represents this principle in the plant world. As the grandmother is the woman who the grandchildren turn to when they got up to something. Grandma puts in a good word for them with her mother. Birch brings comfort and serenity, wisdom, confidence, humor and feeling to be at home.
