Pine Pollen
In the 1980s, it was Steve Johnson, founder of what was then called the Alaskan Flower Essence Project (now Alaskan Essences), who produced the first pollen essences, e.g. from blueberry and spruce pollen. The opportunity to produce a pollen essence myself arose quite unexpectedly one day. Actually, the only thing planned for that day was an excursion with the neighbour’s girl, whose kindergarten had been closed without warning due to staff illness. A bit of playing, a bit of letting the spring sun shine on us and somehow spending the morning until her mother would come home from work at noon.
But in fact, we were so impressed by the pine trees in the park, from which yellow clouds of pollen rose at the slightest breeze, that we didn’t want to let the opportunity pass. Well, I didn’t want to let it pass, but the girl didn’t object either, so this became the first essence I didn’t make alone.
The preparation process was simple. All it took was a light tap on a branch and the pollen trickled into the glass bowl.
The most amazing thing, however, was that the pollen had lost none of its energy after the preparation of the essence. It could be dried without any problems and even a year later, a new essence could have been made with it.
But how would the essence work? Surely, there is always some pollen in the ‚normal‘ pine essence, so the effect should not be so different.
Let us briefly remember what pine stands for: it is about guilt. About perceived or real guilt. The self-blocking feeling of guilt, shame and bad conscience points to the essence of this flower.
Just as fear can turn from a warning signal into a permanent disorder that can occur even without a conscious cause, guilt can also take on a life of its own and gain dominance over a person. One suddenly feels guilty about everything, completely independent of any realities. Someone tells a joke, no one laughs, who is embarrassed? The joke teller maybe, the mere listening Pine guy for sure. After all, he is to blame for everything anyway.
The Pine type feels guilty even when others make the mistake. This is based on an overwhelming feeling of being responsible for literally everything that happens in one’s environment. Moreover, it is based on an unfulfillable desire for perfection, which can never be achieved in reality. There is no rule without exception, 100% does not exist. Not even the earth is 100% round, ever heard of the Himalayan?
But the inveterate Pine type can’t be bothered with realities. Every „You are not responsible“ he counters with a persistent „Yes, but...“. That’s why it’s not a matter of changing reality, but of changing the way reality is perceived by the person.
Just as someone in love sees everything through rose-coloured glasses, the guilty one sees the guillotine constantly hovering over him. The inner judge thunders his „Guilty!“ and the poor sufferer sinks into the ground. But everything takes place only within himself.
Pine is the essence that makes you more merciful and forgiving when it comes to yourself. Pine people usually have no problem to forgive others. Certainly, the essence of the indestructible pollen has a similar effect.
A special feature of pollen is its magnetism. It attaches itself wherever it can. It flies to where it „feels“ drawn to. This is something that makes pollen essences useful helpers in all manual techniques. Pine is one of the most pain-relieving essences anyway. If a masseur, physiotherapist or other friendly helper uses pollen essence, they will find the cause of the pain more quickly. A few drops of the essence added to the massage oil guide the hands of the helper to where the energy is needed. Another advantage is its applicability in acupuncture. It seems that essence energy and acupuncture energy have a lot in common. Disruptions and blockages of the energy flowing through the meridians can be corrected more easily and quickly with pollen essences than with „normal“ flower essences.
The source of the pain becomes clear to the sufferer more quickly, and this is communicated to the practitioner through the sensitivity of their practised hands. In the interplay of both, Pine pollen can be used effectively to alleviate any kind of pain. Taken internally in addition to the external treatment, the mind calms down, the inner focus on the pain dissolves, the acceptance of help is facilitated.
All muscular and emotional tension can give way and healing a chance.
