The tickle in the head - Nasturtium

Nasturtium is the flower essence for the dry minded people who put intellect above everything.  They only look at the world and evaluate it according to intellectual criteria and seem expressionless and distant. They are cool, sober, deliberate, rational - and deadly boring. They have subordinated their emotionality to their intellec. Their emotional life is accordingly not very varied, oscillating between lukewarm and very lukewarm. They find themselves on the slippery slope of a black-and-white view of the world. Physically, they are hardly active, rather weak - they find neither pleasure in playing nor in sporting activities, as typical couch potatoes they prefer to train their brains.

They may be capable of intellectual masterpieces, but their one-sided attitude to life leads to limitations even in this area.  Not infrequently, they are humourless, blinkered people whose stubbornness and narrow-mindedness make them unpopular. They may be obsessed with their task and able to solve it satisfactorily - otherwise, their overview is limited to the emotionless and joyless aspects of existence.  Without a lively emotional life, they quickly ossify and run the risk of walking through the world as bitter, narrow-minded loners, without joy, without friends. Their mental work exhausts them, they are debilitated, have headaches, possibly some kind of nervous disorders. Typical diseases for nasturtium people are lung diseases and anaemia - corresponding to their lack of vitality.

Nasturtium must first give strength to these people. Lesson 1 is to breathe deeply, to take in and use the energy that surrounds them everywhere. This allows to experience yourself and the body in a new way. The newly gained sensitivity and responsiveness can be fascinating. It starts with something like a tingle in the fingertips, and they begin to grasp the world in a new way, in the literal sense. Suddenly they receive unexpected impulses and stimuli from everywhere and develop a liveliness that they themselves can hardly imagine. The spectrum of emotions becomes richer, as do their expressions, as well as facial expressions and gestures. Their abstract thoughts get a new basis - a big shift in perspective takes place. They develop into strong, humorous, fun-loving people.

The essence of this flower can also be used for a short time in phases in which one lives too heady due to circumstances, for example when one has to study for an exam.  Or when one’s head feels dull and heavy in the evening because one has been brooding over difficult tasks all day. Indication is being exhausted by intellectual work.

Nasturtium brings humour back into life, exuberance, cheerfulness and joie de vivre. It makes you want to have new experiences, to explore the unknown, the exciting thrill of entering new territory.
